Health Shuttle Driver

This organisation needs either a driver or driver support to deliver people for health appointments.
Clean drivers license. Clean bill of health. Physical ability to support people into and out of a range of vehicles.

Location: Horowhenua - commence and finish in Otaki

Dates: Monday - Friday. However, volunteer shift is up to the volunteer in agreement with the Coordinator.

Hours: 2 hours between 6 am to 6 pm would be a good goal. Most shifts are a maximum 8 hours.

Front of House and General Helper

This amazing organisation provides environmental education on exotic species' impact on our forgotten native fauna (animals). They have a growing centre with displays and tours and now need help at the front desk to welcome people in and support our educator. The ideal person needs to have an interest in our environment (we will teach you heaps so prior knowledge is not an issue) and be willing to help also with native plant sales. Might suit a tertiary student as internet would be available to study in quiet periods if not helping educator. The person will be managing visitors with vaccine pass checking and using an EFTPOS machine for tours. Must be double vaccinated.

Dates: Sundays - can be every Sunday or rostered every few weeks

Essential Wellbeing Volunteer

Volunteers wanted to play a vital role out in all of our communities during this Covid Pandemic delivering groceries, medication, clothing requirements etc to those in home isolation. Use of a warranted vehicle is a must. Reimbursement for vehicle use will be provided. All PPE, volunteer vest, as well as I.D., will be provided. All volunteers must be double vaccinated and provide proof of this. A firm commitment to this role is extremely important. Those volunteers expressing an interest will be added to a "stand by" list and given training once a commitment has been established.

Make a difference or support an older person who is lonely or socially isolated. Visit an older adult either in the community or in a rest home, for 1 hour each week. Are you a warm, caring, mature, reliable person who can build a rapport with an older person? Training and support provided, prior to introductions. We aim to match volunteers with clients who have interests in common & live nearby one another.
References and Police check are required. Need to be a NZ Resident or Citizen and age 18+years.
Full vaccination required.
