Treasurer
Volunteer would be or become financial manager and adviser, oversee relevant policies, comply with official requirements, use MYOB, and align financial planning & budgeting with safety-camera coverage plans for the Horowhenua policing area. Most work can be undertaken at home and could be managed by a person with impaired mobility. Competence in financial advising, planning & budgeting. Using installed MYOB enables ready compliance with Charities Commission requirements for accounts-keeping, banking, payments, and receipts. Annually prepare accurate financial statements, have them reviewed or audited, and present them for AGM adoption; and will maintain sound relations with partners, authorities & colleagues, and prepare other reports as necessary.

Health Shuttle Driver
We're looking for compassionate volunteers with a clean driver's license, and physical fitness to assist passengers. In this role, you'll be responsible for safely transporting individuals from their homes to Palmerston North Hospital for medical appointments, contributing to their wellbeing.
Location: PN | Manawatu | Horowhenua
Dates/Times:
Shifts are flexible and depend on the volume of requests. You can expect to work from Monday to Friday between 6 am and 6 pm, with a target of a maximum 8-hour shift. Occasionally, weekend availability may be required.

Mountain Bike Track Marshalls (Event)
We need track marshalls for the Whanganui/Manawatu Secondary Schools Mountain Bike championship event. Volunteers need to be able to mobilise over potentially steep uneven terrain. Able to concentrate and stay on task. Able to identify hazards and respond to any incident that occurs, including being able to send and receive messages in English in a pressure situation.
Lunch and refreshments are provided to volunteers.
Location: The track is towards the hills between Tokomaru and Linton so just as close for Horowhenua-ites as Manawatū-ites! It is about a 40-minute drive from PN so volunteers do need to have their own transport.

We need volunteers to assist with serving morning tea and lunches, tidying up, and participating in light physical and brain games (cognitive stimulation therapy) and reminiscing activities. These activities result in Day Club members enjoying social interaction and stimulation.

Financial Mentor
Budgeting can be tricky for many people, and quite overwhelming, which is why we are looking for someone who is a master at saving those pennies, and working with finances, and who would love to help others to budget. You will need to be able to work with individuals 1-on-1, as well as groups, to educate people about budgeting. You will also need to be a good listener, non-judgemental and have impeccable problem-solving skills. The volunteer either needs to be FINCAP trained or be willing to do the training with our support.

Are you an outgoing, bi-lingual informative individual, who loves to make friends and share news with everyone, while helping people?
We need assistance to translate, edit, and publish local news or information about the Community (Mainly around Palmerston North) or perhaps there is some local news or information from your own native country that you would like to share? We would love to have a variety of languages and backgrounds on board, as long as you are also able to speak and translate English, as well as your native tongue. You will also need to be able to access social media, and new sites from your native country.

Community Ambassador
Do you live in a rural community? Do you love talking? Do you enjoy working within your local community? Would you like to help teenagers and adults in your community who struggle with the basics of reading and writing? We will provide you with training and give ongoing support. Over 1 in 10 New Zealanders struggle to read and write. Living with low literacy impacts many aspects of life including health, finances, employment opportunities, well-being and self-esteem. This work changes lives and it makes a real difference.
We are looking for local ambassadors to represent us in your community - to help spread the word about our free services by helping us build and maintain relationships with local organisations and people. It will include distributing posters, and leaflets (or telling us where to send them), attending community network meetings, events and lots of liaising with community groups or businesses so we can help our low literacy youth and adults reach their potential.
Location: Work from home
Dates/Hours: This opportunity is flexible. You will need to report back to the Community Coordinator at least once a month with what you have been doing. You can request help at any time. You will also be part of a community of Regional Ambassadors who will share their experiences and give each other support through our Slack messaging.
